While watching a video from one of my coaches this morning, I was, yet again, reminded of what it’s really all about when it comes to making changes, becoming who you want to be, doing the things you want to do and having the things you want to have. Because there’s one thing that matters more than all the other things.
And that thing is consistency.
I know, I know–it’s so simple it just feels like it has to be wrong. There’s no way that being consistent is the answer. No way, no way, no way.
Sorry to burst your bubble, but, yep. That’s really all it’s about. That’s really all that matters.
You can literally only do something or work on something for 15 minutes a day, but if you do that consistently every single day, it will get you somewhere. Action compounds. (And so does inaction.)
Any time I reflect on all I’ve accomplished so far in my life, writing career and business, it always comes down to consistency.
Sure, we try to make it about so many other things–like process, strategy, connections, networking, or whatever other things you’ve been making it about.
But the thing that’s really moving the needle isn’t any of those things, specifically. It’s your consistency with those things that moves it.
Which means you can literally choose ANYTHING–any action, any activity, any goal or dream or vision or desire–and so long as you do something every day and build consistency with it, you will eventually arrive at your desired end result.
The problem is we get so caught up in trying to figure out the exact “How” of making something happen, we forget basic fundamentals, like being consistent. And that’s the thing that matters more than anything.
It’s time to get back to basics, back to creating consistent, daily habits and discipline around doing what matters to you.
If you do, you’ll not only find your life flowing a lot easier, but you’ll actually start seeing results from all that consistency.
And that’s what you’re really after, isn’t it?
