Are You Willing to Do What It Takes to Have It All On Your Terms?

Having it all. Living your dream life. Freedom. Life on your terms. The stuff most people dream of.

While it’s absolutely and totally possible to have these things–freedom, your dream life, on your terms–most will never actually have them. And not because they can’t actually have them.

Most will never have them because they’re not willing to do what it really takes to have that kind of life.

Living your dream life requires risk and pushing yourself out of your comfort zone and being OK with uncertainty. It requires you to live on your edge and be willing to take big (or small) leaps in faith.

And most aren’t up for that. Most people are too scared to do the things it really takes to live their dream life and to fulfill all of the desires they have inside them.

Most refuse to believe it’s even possible for them to have that kind of life, let alone let themselves actually live it.

So they hide out. They play small. They stay in their comfort zone. And they buy into the bullshit they tell themselves (and that others tell them) about what their life is really all about. (It is what it is, right?)

But what they don’t realize is a few simple shifts could change everything. With a few simple shifts they could feel more free, they could spend their time doing the things they love doing, they could create their dream lives all on their terms.

With a few simple shifts.

Shifts that most will never, ever make. Because these shifts aren’t “the norm.” They’re not what most others are doing, and how dare you go against the crowd.

But these shifts will allow you to finally live the dream life you’ve always wanted.

Shift #1: A daily mindset practice is non-negotiable

Like brushing your teeth or sleeping every night, creating and reprogramming your mindset needs to be something you do every single day. Even when you’re tired or sick or don’t feel like it or don’t want to.

Daily. Non-negotiable. Period.

I fought this at first too, because I had a very hard time with feeling good all day long and with my life flowing with so much ease. It scared the fuck out of me.

Because I wasn’t raised to have a life like that. I was raised to struggle and to knock on wood so bad things didn’t happen to me and to not get too comfy when good things did happen because the other shoe would eventually drop.

So having a life that was opposite to all of that scared me. Especially when it started to show up after I committed to doing my daily mindset practice every day.

Things were flowing. Ideas, projects, clients, money. It was all flowing to me with an ease I had never experienced before.

And so I hit the panic switch. Several times. Before I finally let go and started to allow that flow into my life.

My daily mindset practice–which includes freestyle writing, setting intentions for my day and my life, and visualizing my intentions and my dream life as if it’s already a done deal–is a non-negotiable for me now. No matter what.

As I sit there every morning writing in my journal, freestyling and setting intentions, I think about all the people in the world who aren’t willing to do this stuff and who aren’t willing to make the time every day to work on their mindset and inner game. And I wonder what their lives would be like if they did.

Which is why I’ve now added into my daily practice an additional 2-minute visualization where I send out intentions of love, blessings, abundance, joy, peace, freedom, money, ease, flow and sparkly high-vibe energy for my husband, my friends and family, his friends and family, and all of the people in the world. Because I want more people to have what I now have.

Inner peace. Confidence. Freedom. Joy. Passion. Abundance. Flow. Ease. These are things I now have in my life (and more!!) and I want these things for everyone else on the world too.

Shift #2: Act as if your dream life is already yours

I’ve been acting as if like a mofo the last 60 days as I make a major life-change and move to Austin with my husband and poodle-baby. I’ve been visualzing more. I’ve been setting more intentions. I’ve been raising my vibration and energy whenever and however I can.

And I’ve been taking action AS IF I already have my dream life and I already am that multi-millionaire writer, author, entrepreneur and creator that I know I’m meant to be.

Making decisions from that place. Choosing daily from that place. And catching myself as fast as I can when I default to my old ways of thinking and being.

It’s a daily process to pay attention to who you’re being and what you’re thinking and believing and then redirecting yourself back to acting from the place you want to be (and not from where you are right now).

Most people aren’t willing to act as if. Most are too afraid to act as if because it could mean taking some big actions and big risks, because it means you have to rely on faith. So they continue to live and act from the place they currently are, making decisions and choices as who they are right now instead of who and where they really want to be.

And so nothing changes.

The change only comes from being willing to step outside your comfort zone and choose and decide and act from the place you want to be and who you want to be and not from where you are now or what you see in your current reality.

Acting as if is the fastest and most powerful way from where you are right now to where you want to be.

But you have to be willing to risk and to expand and to push yourself outside your limitations.

Shift #3: You get to choose your beliefs (and what you choose is what will show up)

Over the last 60 days, I’ve created some incredible new beliefs, including several big money-related beliefs that were absolutely necessary for me to have if I want to go to the next level with my income and impact.

One of which is, the more money I spend, the more money I make, and I always make more money than I spend.

This belief is imperative for me to go to the next level, because achieving and succeeding and creating your dream life requires you to invest in yourself. And that means you may have to spend money.

Spending money always caused me to freak out and worry because I used to have a lack mindset and old, limiting beliefs around money. But I knew those beliefs wouldn’t support me in becoming the multi-millionaire I dream of being. Multi-millionaries invest in themselves, in their health, in their education, in their growth. And I knew I needed to do the same.

So rather than try to step into that identity and become that person with the shitty money mindset I used to have, I knew I had to change it. So I came up with a belief that felt really good to me: the more money I spend, the more money I make, and I always make more money than I spend.

Because if you knew that anytime you spent money it was gonna come back to you and you didn’t have to worry about it, wouldn’t you feel more comfortable spending money?

I knew I would, so that’s the belief I created.

These are not beliefs I was raised with or beliefs anyone gave to me. These are beliefs that I came up with, decided I wanted and then spent the last 60 days programming into myself (and will continue to reinforce going forward).

But then I had to act as if that belief was already true. Acting as if is a powerful way to program a new belief and make it stick.

So I had to go out there and spend money without worry or fear. And not in a frivolous way, but with intention.

I had to spend it as the person I want to be, not who I am right now. So I did things like replaced my dead MacBook Pro with a new MacBook Air, and I threw out or donated all of my old gym clothes and upgraded to a new workout wardrobe that makes me feel amazing, and I freely gave to others (gifts, donations, whatever). And all the while repeating my new belief over and over again… The more money I spend, the more money I make, and I always make more money than I spend.

Over the last 60 days, that belief has become true.

Now I no longer worry about buying birthday gifts or going out to eat or taking my husband out or spending money on whatever I feel I need to spend money on. I just trust, act as if and continue to reinforce my new belief.

And like I said, this is already showing up for me. Last night I took my husband out for drinks. I spent $55, and while we were there I made $600.

Because the more money I spend, the more money I make, and I always make more than I spend.

Your beliefs are in your control. And when you choose to create the beliefs you want to have–whatever your beliefs relate to, doesn’t have to be money–and then act as if they’re already true, you will eventually see them show up in your reality.

There’s so much more that goes into living your dream life than most people realize. And most are unwilling to do what it takes to have that dream life.

The people you see in the world who are rich and successful and living their dreams lives only got to that place because they were willing to do what most others aren’t.

Change your beliefs. Change your mindset. Act as if your dream life is already yours. And watch how fast things start to shift for you.

Dream life or bust,

jen
