How to Motivate Yourself

By Jennifer Blanchard

If you’ve been subscribing to this blog for awhile now, you probably already know how much I love writer Holly Lisle. But if you’re new to the blog (Welcome!), let me give you a short intro.

I first came across Lisle when I was looking for information on character development. I was getting ready to write my first novel and I wanted to nail down a solid main character before I started.

It was then I was introduced to Create a Character Clinic, one of Lisle’s many courses to help writers develop their writing and their writing careers.

Well Lisle has finally introduced her new video course, How To Motivate Yourself. And I couldn’t be more excited.

Did you know that 90 percent of people want to write a novel? But sadly, the percentage of people who actually complete a novel few and far between.

So what’s the problem?

Lack of motivation.

Sure, it’s easy to talk  and think about writing a novel, but until you actually sit down and write it, you’ll never be able to call yourself a novelist.

How To Motivate Yourself is an 88-minute video that walks you through Lisle’s achieving-goals process. Along the way you’ll take breaks to complete exercises that will allow you to discover what’s been keeping you from reaching your goals.

This course will teach you how to:

  • Understand what you want
  • Know exactly why you want it
  • Get what you want
  • create realistic, achievable, step-by-step goals to get you where you want to be

If you’re ready to get motivated and finally write that novel you’ve been dreaming about, you need to check out Holly Lisle’s The Writing Craft: How To Motivate Yourself.

And if you do take this course, be sure to come back and let us know your thoughts.
