Procrastinating Writers Is 2 Years Old Next Month

By Jennifer Blanchard

On March 22, Procrastinating Writers will be two years old!

It amazes me every time I think about how far this blog has come in such as short amount of time. What started off as one writer’s procrastination has become an entire community of writers who are striving to get writing done.

Celebrating this birthday is also a milestone in my own life. As a struggling procrastinator, I know how difficult it can be to stick with a project until the end and to find time to write. This blog helps me continue to overcome procrastination week-after-week.

And from overcoming my procrastination and sticking with a post schedule, this blog has grown from zero readers to 5,000-plus page views a month within the first year and a half of its existence.

I have you, my reader, to thank for that. You are the reason this blog has been so successful.

So from March 1 until March 30, Procrastinating Writers will be celebrating “Reader Appreciation Month.”

Here’s what you can expect:

  • Reader profiles–It’s always good to get to know the people in your community, so I’ll be posting profiles of a few select readers, chock-full of tips and ideas for beating procrastination.
  • Giveaways!–Throughout the month I’ll be giving away cool prizes, everything from writing utensils and journals to eBooks.
  • “Tell A Procrastinating Friend”–In an attempt to hit my goal of 50,000 visitors a month to the blog, I’m reaching out to you, dear reader, and asking that you share this blog with your procrastinating friends. I’m launching the “Tell A Procrastinating Friend” campaign.  If you know writers who are letting their dreams slip away, send this site to them.
  • Butt-In-Chair–On March 24, I’m launching my very first eBook, Butt-In-Chair: A writing productivity guide for writers who struggle to get started. I’ve spent weeks making this eBook an effective guide to overcoming your procrastination, finding productivity methods that work for you and sitting your butt in the chair to write. I know you’ll be pleased with the results.

The release of this eBook is also another little celebration for me when it comes to overcoming my procrastination. After months of excuses and putting it off, Butt-In-Chair is finally here. Almost.

Expect great things in March. Great things are coming.

And, as always, thank you so much for reading.
