THE INNER WORK IS THE ONLY WORK THAT ACTUALLY MATTERS (THE REST IS JUST DETAILS)

It’s sad to me when I see creative people who are badly struggling. They’re doing the work. They’re creating their art. They’re putting their art out into the world.

But it’s still not working.

No one is buying. No one is paying attention. No one cares. Maybe for years.

Eventually, this beats a creative person down.

They start to question everything. They start to wonder if they’re wasting their time. They begin to believe they’re not meant to do their creative work.

Then they go get a lame-ass day job or they quit or they stop putting in their full energy and effort and just half-ass things.

And all along, all they ever had to do to start making things work is do the inner work.

What’s “the inner work?”

It’s dealing with the emotional, mental and spiritual baggage you’re still carrying around from your childhood or young adult years or a time in your life when things were really bad for you. It’s digging DEEP into the memories, the limiting beliefs, the negative thoughts and anything else that is getting in your way, and figuring out how to release and remove that shit.

THAT’S the real work. THAT’S the work most creative people aren’t doing or are unwilling to do.

Because it’s scary. Because it’s full-on. Because it’s hard to face.

And THAT’S why they’re suffering and struggling and not getting the results they desire.

If you’re doing the work on the outside–creating your art, putting it out there–and it’s still not working, that just means you haven’t done the REAL work yet.

The REAL work is the inner work.

It’s the hard, scary stuff that most people don’t want to deal with. And so they don’t.

Instead, they focus all of their time on their external world, trying to make things happen, forcing what they want to come to them and getting burned the fuck out in the process.

OF COURSE it feels like a struggle when you approach it like this! OF COURSE it feels like nothing is working. OF COURSE no one is buying or caring or paying attention.

Because what you’re seeing and experiencing on the outside is simply just A REFLECTION OF WHAT IS GOING ON INSIDE YOURSELF.

If your art isn’t selling, it’s not because you suck or you’re not doing the right things. It’s not selling because you have limiting beliefs, internally, that are holding you back from receiving the sales you desire to have.

If no one is following you or watching your livestreams or paying attention to what you’re doing, it’s not because you’re not good enough or that there are other people out there who are better. No one is following, watching or paying attention because you’re not paying attention to yourself and to the stuff that actually matters.

If you feel like a failure, it’s not because you actually are. It’s because you choose to continue feeling that way, instead of shifting into a better-feeling state.

Everything is energy, including YOU.

Your energy gets infused into every single thing you say, do, create and put out into the world. And people can FEEL YOUR ENERGY.

Which means when you’re putting out a negative, low-vibe energy that reeks of “I’m not good enough” or whatever other bullshit you’re allowing to control you, THAT is the energy people are feeling from you. And in that energetic state, the ONLY things and people you can attract are things and people who are on that same energetic frequency.

You’re not fooling anyone.

You can’t hide from the Universe or your Higher Self. The Universe and your Higher Self are also energetic, and energy NEVER LIES.

And this is why it’s SO necessary to do the inner work. To get your goddamn head in the game. To do the REAL work of clearing out the bullshit that’s still stopping you.

Or you just have to accept the fact that you’ll most likely never have the success you desire to have. And if you somehow do create success, it will be hard-won, you’ll be burned out and you won’t even be able to enjoy it.

But it doesn’t have to be like that!

There’s a better way. A MUCH better way.

Do the inner work.

Handle your shit. Deal with the old memories that are still hurting and haunting you. Clear out the bullshit that’s limiting you or keeping you playing small.

Do it. And do it daily.

The inner work is not something you can just do one time and be done. It’s a lifelong journey to unlearn and release the nonsense bullshit you’ve picked up over the years.

And no matter how successful you get, that shit will still come up from time-to-time.

It’s just how it is. It’s part of the process.

And, really, isn’t it A LOT more empowering to realize that YOU are in control of your reality? And that all you have to do to shift things is change what you’re thinking, feeling, believing, focusing on and expecting?

Doing the inner work DAILY will get you there. It will shift your thoughts, beliefs, feelings, focus, expectations, and the actions you take because of those thoughts, beliefs, feelings, focus and expectations.

And once you have a habit around doing the inner work, it no longer matters when that shit comes up. You just deal with it head-on, then brush it aside and keep fucking going.

Period. End of story.

Dream life or bust,

jen

P.S. When it comes down to it, success is really simple… it’s a HABIT. It’s doing things, daily, even when you don’t want to, even when you don’t feel like it, even when it’s “not working.” HABIT will turn you into the person who IS successful. HABIT will  ensure you do what actually matters. HABIT makes it easier for you to be the person and do the things.

If you know it’s time for you to create permanent habits in your life, STAY TUNED!!! I have a new workshop coming up that is gonna help you build habits FOR GOOD.
